Jar Full of Delightful Daisies

Jar Full of Delightful Daisies

Friends, today I have this cheerful jar of daisies to share with you. This card was a custom order for a dear friend to share with friends who are going through a tough time.

Making this card made me so happy. It’s a large card – 5 1/2″ X 8 1/2″ – and I wanted it to be full of vintage joy. It’s January and that means blah and bleary, so I wanted to add a little sunshine to the card as well.  I used all Stampin’ Up products on the card except for the jar and the Copics to color.

I started with a base of Night of Navy, then I ran two pieces of retired Brushed Silver card stock through the Big Shot with the Tin Tile Dynamic embossing folder. I love this embossing folder for a bit of vintage detail. It looks just like tin ceiling or wall tile.

For the mason jar, I found a template online and printed it on X-Press It Blending Card for Copic Markers.  I stamped some stems from the Daisy Delight stamp set in Memento ink in New Sprout. Then I colored over them with Copic Markers in BG000 and B00. I used the Colorless Blender to fade to look like water in a blue-tinted glass mason jar. I cut a piece of Balmy Sky card stock and stamped the sentiment from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set in Night of Navy ink. I tied some Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon around the jar and tied that awesome bow all by myself.

For the daisies, I stamped the daisies and the centers from the Daisy Delight stamp set in Daffodil Delight and punched them out with the Daisy Punch and the 1/2″ Circle Punch. I adhered them all together with glue dots. I cut some Wild Wasabi card stock in small 3/8″ strips and applied them to the heads of the daisies with glue dots. Then, I adhered Dimensionals to the centers of the daisies and Dimensional Strips to the Wild Wasabi strips – the perfect size! I adhered the daisies to the card and adhered two pieces of white card stock on the inside to finish up.

Thank you for spending some time with me today. I hope you enjoyed this card and it brought a little sunshine to your day.
